2022 is considered a successful year for Vietnam’s coffee industry when the output and selling price reached the highest level in recent years, thereby continuing to occupy the 2nd position in the world in terms of coffee export output Brazil.

Contrary to the evolution of export coffee prices, domestic and world coffee prices have continuously adjusted downward since the end of August due to favorable weather in Brazil improving the supply outlook, while the instability of The global economy can reduce consumer demand.

Vanusia Nogeira, executive director of the World Coffee Organization (ICO), is concerned that inflation and workers’ wages will not rise over time affecting coffee consumption at chain stores and restaurants row. Instead, she hopes people will drink more coffee at home.

Concern for the specialty coffee business group, but a prospect for the robust group of coffee companies is positive. Robusta coffee is cheap and is a raw material for the production of instant coffee.

Meanwhile, Vietnam’s instant coffee exports have tended to increase rapidly in recent years. This is expected to have a positive impact on Vietnamese coffee and thereby shape the Vietnamese coffee market. New prospects for the coffee industry.

Retail-packaged coffee was JM Smucker’s second-quarter staple, contributing strongly to the coffee, food, and pet food maker’s $2.2 billion in sales. JM Smucker credited its US retail coffee division for a strong contribution to strong second-quarter sales growth.

Reportedly for the three months that ended October 31, 2022, JM Smucker’s coffee business saw revenue growth of 10%, reaching $710 million. Total company revenue increased 8% to $2.2 billion, including 9% revenue growth for JM Smucker’s US pet food retail division, 14% for business international and away from home, and a 2% drop in sales for retail consumer goods in the United States.

The company raised its full-year 2023 financial outlook, forecasting revenue growth of 6.5%. However, it cites ongoing cost inflation and supplies chain volatility as potential obstacles over the next six months.
