Unsurprisingly, global coffee prices continued to fall last week. However, the sharp drop in prices surprised many economists, when the price of coffee on the London and New York exchanges fell to the lowest level in more than a year, especially since the price of Robusta coffee on the exchange in London in the previous session reached $1,849/mt for January 2023 delivery, down nearly $150/mt from the previous week.

Similarly, arabica coffee on the New York exchange for delivery in December 2022 also lost 21.1 cents/lb compared to the previous trading week.

Although the cause is stress, the US Federal Reserve (Fed) is afraid of raising interest rates at the next meeting. But the fact that the world coffee price continued to fall from its lowest level, lower than when the world was at the peak of the fight against Covid-19 (about from August to October 2021). are worrying many investors.

Another reason why the world coffee price fluctuates is that the supply of coffee is quite abundant, and while the risk of an economic crisis may exist, people prioritize spending on essential necessities.

World Coffee News: In Fort Collins, Fox Den launched a zero-waste cafe model

The Fox Den No Waste Cafe & Roastery is a world-class coffee shop community located in the pleasant setting of a northwest neighborhood in Fort Collins, Colorado. The 1,200 square foot boutique, which sells vintage furniture, is also progressive and supports zero waste initiatives.

What Acheson designed is a comfortable cafe with vintage furnishings, vibrant carpets, and a bar ornamented with coffee cups from thrift shops where coffee is served. Visitors may also purchase or bring their own glass jar.

Customers of Fox Den can purchase No Waste coffee in bulk and make payments at a weighing station in the rear area. Additionally, the store offers green household goods, leisure things, and other locally produced recyclable and compostable goods.

A three-group Rancilio Epoca coffee maker and many Elektra grinders are included in the coffee bar’s entire set of equipment. Acheson roasts the coffee using a 3-kg Mill City Roasters roaster to create blends with names like Foxy Gal, Black Eyed Fox, and Tulum. Through the importer InterAmerican Coffee, coffee is provided to the business from many different nations.

Single-origin beans and mixes are used to create hot or iced lattes, cortados, cappuccinos, and cold beers within the shop. Lavender, rosemary, sage, vanilla, and mocha are among the homemade syrups.

Additionally, customers may choose from a variety of gourmet jams and peanut butter sandwiches such Og (peanut butter and marmalade on bread), Foco – Co Berry (peanut butter, Nutella, and jam), and Ikle Me Pickle Me. Pastries include vegan macaroons and gluten-free coconut macaroons (peanut butter and pickle on sourdough).

Acheson started a No Waste business in March of this year after relocating with a history in coffee from California to Fort Collins in 2021 and looking for quick assistance in the developing Colorado metropolis.
