Coffee Price Today August 29, 2022: Coffee Price Deep Reduction
Ending last week’s session (August 26), the price of Robusta coffee on ICE Futures Europe – London for November delivery fell by $33 (1.43%) and traded at $2,279 per ton for futures delivery. January 2023 decreased by 34 USD (1.48%) and traded at 2,260 USD / ton average trading volume.
The price of arabica coffee on the ICE Futures US – New York for delivery in December 2022 was adjusted down 1.40 cents (0.58%) to trade at 238.1 cents/lb. While March 2023 delivery fell 1.35 cents/lb (0.58%), trading better than volume 231.65 cents/lb. USDX moves higher; Low inventories on the two exchanges continued to push up coffee prices, while the US Federal Reserve (Fed) confirmed that it would strongly raise interest rates.
The high-risk aversion has caused US stocks and commodities to drop as speculative capital flows back to dockside assets. This development caused the global coffee trade to decline on the last 2 days of the week.
